Village Global is Hiring a Marketing & Events Associate

Village Global, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, is seeking a Marketing & Events Associate to help bring our brand to life for the founders, LPs, and operators we work with. You'll own many details behind our events and marketing programs while keeping our office running smoothly day to day.
This is a high-variety, high-impact role for someone who wants real ownership early in their career: one day you might be building an invite list and briefing a VIP guest, the next you're troubleshooting the podcast recording setup or making sure a visiting CEO has what they need when they walk in the door.
Here, you'll be working in a culture that prizes excellence and personal and professional growth. You'll have a front-row seat to learn from some of the most exceptional founders and iconic CEOs in the world. You'll build your network. And we'll partner with you so you can build the skills that will help you realize your highest potential as a marketing, events, and community professional.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Events
- Plan and execute Village Global events end to end. There is a lot of white space for someone to dream up what comes next: new formats, new rituals, new excuses to get our community in a room together.
- Support and own event logistics and communications: invitee and attendee communications, on-site coordination, and post-event follow-up, partnering with colleagues on logistics and production for select events.
- Oversee and support our marketing contractor pool (e.g., our social media manager and video editors), keeping projects on schedule and on-brand.
- Manage the firm's podcast, newsletter, and website presence, coordinating content, production schedules, and updates.
- Interface directly with the Village Global team to keep marketing and events moving: soliciting input (e.g., speaker suggestions), following up on open threads, and keeping stakeholders informed.
Office Management
- Manage swag inventory, handouts, and swag/gift-related correspondence.
- Set up and manage in-office AV/tech for meetings, podcast recording, and events (cameras, monitors, Wi-Fi), and serve as the point person for basic office tech issues.
- Coordinate remote building/office access for founders and other visitors, and handle online building portal requests.
- Greet visitors, LPs, and founders and get them settled; set up conference rooms for external visitor meetings, including water service.
- Manage snacks, drinks, electrical, and other office needs that pop up.
- Manage incoming mail and packages, and handle outgoing shipping (gifts, event materials, other firm needs) including our FedEx/UPS accounts.
- Serve as the point of contact for office vendors and facilities needs. Keep relationships running smoothly and troubleshoot issues as they come up.
The ideal candidate
- Likely 2-6 years of professional work experience — you've worked on a team before and know how to operate independently without much hand-holding. (If you have many more years of experience but are re-entering the workforce, it might still be a fit.)
- Genuine interest in events and marketing. Tell us about your dream event to organize, and share with us how you currently use social media.
- Tech-savvy and detail-oriented: quick to pick up new tools, comfortable in spreadsheets and CRM systems, and unfazed by basic AV/tech troubleshooting. Tell us how you've used AI to recently automate a workflow of yours.
- Inspired by entrepreneurs, and you are pro startups as a force for good!
- Strong organizational skills and good judgment about how to prioritize across a genuinely varied set of responsibilities.
- Energetic, upbeat, and extroverted — you'll be the face of the firm for visitors to our office!
- Flexible availability: this role involves occasional evening and weekend hours to support events.
- Bay Area based (or willing to relocate) and able to be in our San Francisco office 5 days a week.
This role is likely not a fit if:
- You want to specialize or go super deep in a select number of projects. This role cuts across many different project areas, and juggling diverse priorities and handling them efficiently before moving onto the next project will be key.
- You think certain work is beneath you. This is a "no task too small" kind of job.
- You want a super structured job with a routine schedule set every day. This job will have lots of serendipity, fast-moving pieces, and unexpected new projects popping up anytime!
Additional information
- Village Global is an equal opportunity employer.
- This role is based in-office at 4 Embarcadero Center in San Francisco, 5 days a week.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (given events work).
