Village Global is an early-stage venture firm chaired by Reid Hoffman and backed by some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, including Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Abby Johnson, Michael Dell, and Anne Wojcicki. We run a unique network-based strategy and have invested in hundreds of remarkable founders across sectors and around the world. We are hiring an Investor – an entry-level investing role that serves as either the launchpad for a long career in venture or an incredible learning opportunity to prepare you for your next chapter as a builder and entrepreneur.

Village often leads the first round of funding in a startup. You will engage in every aspect of the seed investing process, from sourcing to diligencing to supporting founders post-investment. You’ll interact with thousands of high-potential startups and savvy investors as you hone your skills and build your track record.

• Source and screen prospective investment opportunities at pre-seed and seed stage
• Conduct diligence and references to inform investment decisioning
• Research new markets and trends to identify emerging entrepreneurs and technologies
• Draft investment memos and make investment recommendations. Eventually champion deals as the investor of record
• Support portfolio companies with helpful introductions and resources
• Collaborate with angels and other GPs in the ecosystem
• Contribute to Village’s overall strategy

Beyond the obvious, you’re an ideal candidate if:

• You have 1-3 years of total work experience. You do not need to have prior investing experience.
• You know someone is a great founder when you meet them and have strong opinions on which technological trends will shape our future.
• You have a technical background or strong technical curiosity. Show us what you’ve built or helped build.
• You’re already integrated into important builder and founder communities in Silicon Valley and beyond. Tell us which ones.
• You love meeting raw, Day 0 founders. You have a high social battery – you genuinely get energy from meeting people and bringing builders together. You already host dinners or social meetups for your friends in product & engineering.
• You’re obsessed with startups and the venture capital ecosystem, especially new VC models like scout programs, accelerators, software-driven VC, etc. You track the venture ecosystem in your free time.

• You think investing is glamorous
• You like to make decisions solo versus working on a team and leveraging a network

• Preference to those who live in the Bay Area or are willing to relocate.
